On 21 June 2023, ReNEW was part of the IW-NET Workshop on the Optimization of Inland Waterway Transport and Urban Last Mile Logistics, hosted by the Port of Brussels.
During this workshop, the participants had the opportunity to explore how inland waterway transport and eco-friendly last-mile delivery can improve the transportation of goods in dense urban areas. The experts’ panel presented innovative pitches and engaged in thought-provoking discussions, offering insights into best practices, overcoming obstacles, and discovering the immense opportunities that lie within this transformative approach.
Nik Delmiere, the project coordinator for ReNEW, pitched the project, highlighting ReNEW’s primary goals and emphasizing the purposes behind the Living Labs and the geographical zones they cover.
The event ended with a networking lunch with a beautiful port tour on a barge. It was an incredible opportunity to engage and meet with so many experts in the field.
